Values

Every so often I like to play the “values” game, in which you write down your top 10 values on slips of paper and go through and rip them, thereby showing you what is most important. I think values can change over time–many will stay the same, but some will become more or less important, and some things may appear or disappear from such a list. It’s fun it think about what values you hold for yourself and for others.

A dynamic list of values, in sort-of ranked order:

(09/2017)

Another note to self, must do this again — with Daniel. Major life changes in progress.

(09/2016)

Another note to self, must do this again. Major life changes ahead.

(04/2016)

Note to self, must do this again. Major life changes ahead.

(09/23/2012)

  1. Inner Harmony
  2. Faith
  3. Love
  4. Open-mindedness
  5. Responsibility
  6. Respect
  7. Balance
  8. Community
  9. Patience
  10. Perseverance

(I think I figured it out. It’s open-mindedness and respect in the context of modern US)

  2. Love
  3. Faith
  4. Balance
  5. Respect
  6. Growth
  7. Community
  8. Responsibility

  10. Perseverance

(After making these lists, sometimes I wonder why I’m not more religious.)
